Hospital Construction is governed by OSHPD (Office of State Health & Planning Department) to ensure these critical care facilities remain operational during catastrophic natural events. Attention to details is critical to assure that the structural and smoke/fire assemblies are met with every turn of a wall. Coordination is Infinity’s key to success on these types of projects.
Infinity has worked on multiple OSHPD governed projects throughout the years with experience at the LAC+USC Replacement Hospital, Cedar Sinai Medical Center, Santa Monica Hospital and Children’s Hospital Los
Angeles & Orange County.
Our experience in Hospital Construction starts in the pre-construction phase where we vet out possible interference between the structural integrity of the metal stud framing system and overhead mechanical, electrical and plumbing. We look to resolve ADA clearance issues by adding up dimension strings, calculating wall thickness to fully analyze where conflicts exist to resolve prior to placement of framing. Finally, looking to prioritize Hourly Wall Ratings with Hourly Walls/Smoke Rating to ensure that the sequence of the drywall within a wall cavity laps correctly to the highest priority wall.
